One Week Older and Wiser Too

Mary had her two month doctor's appointment this week. She's 23" (59%) and weighs 12 lbs 12 oz (73%).  She's growing and looks great.

Lucy likes taking selfies.

I knew this day would happen.

This is her "tool" drawer.

"Two babies!". Daddy says that a lot and so now if he's holding Mary, Lucy will want held too and says, "Two babies! Two babies!".

Going to the grocery store is a lot more fun for everybody when Lucy can drive the cart.

When she's tired she's tired.

We took advantage of the nice weather yesterday and went on a walk on the Monticello Trail. Lucy insisted on pushing her stroller, so we ended up going about 1/4 mile in an hour.

This is a big tree that used to be Monticello but had to be cut down. Now we get to run around the inside of it.

Here's Mary enjoying the walk.

Lucy walking up a hill. You can hardly see her. She's so tiny and I thought she was cute on the big hill.

We spent a couple of hours at the law school yesterday. It's a good thing nobody is at the school on a Saturday because we caused a couple of scenes. Lucy liked this fountain outside though.

Hanging out at Old Navy. Because we can.

Lucy taking initiative to get Mary dressed.

Snow, Snow, Snow!

The girls and I went to Grandma Bayly's house because Gma and Gpa were going to watch the girls while Bryan and I went to the ballet. But then it snowed. And snowed. The ballet was cancelled so we got to spend extra time with Grandma. Lucy loved it. She loves having extra attention and Grandma takes good care of her. I was worried she wouldn't want to leave, but when she learned she was going to go home and see daddy that carried her through the drive home. She kept saying, "See Dada? See Dada?".

Baby exhausted

We got to see the Cannons and Coupes. Jacob helped Lucy get all the way to the top of the play place, but Henry got her down.

We had a nice visit with the Hoemann's too. Will is great with Mary and she was happy to hang out with him.

 Another baby exhausted

Grandma and Lucy making cookies. I almost ruined the bonding experience (in my attempt to keep Lucy's fingers out of the running mixer) by telling Lucy that the mixer was going to get loud like the vacuum. That scared her pretty good, but she hung in there.

Banana and tomato for breakfast? Why not?

This was the night that I laid Mary down for bed at 9 and thought I was golden until she popped back up at 9:30 refreshed. We were up until midnight hanging out.

Mary?

There she is

My mom has a shelf where she keeps these little birds. Needless to say, it's within reach for Lucy. She likes to line them up on the window sill. I think it's pretty cute.

Snow!

I did the best I could to make a snow man.

Within 30 seconds of me giving the poor snow man his head Lucy gave him one good whack to knock it off. This was her victory face as she said, "Head! Fall!".

Lucy's pretty face

Mary is pretty good about sleeping anywhere

I wanted to get a picture of Lucy in her pretty dress and pigtails. She was upset because she wanted to take the picture. So this is all I got...

Happy House

Life is good in our house. The best way to evaluate how "good" things are going is by the level of sleep  everyone in the house is getting.  Lucy's sleep issues are a thing of the past (fingers crossed). She goes to down for her naps and bed great now. Her little sister is an amazing sleeper too. It's normal for her to sleep 8 hours at night and she even went 9 hours one night. So by that measure, we are all doing great.

I couldn't help posting a bunch of these pictures.

Grandma and Grandpa Jones came for a visit this week. They babysat while Bryan and I went out to a movie and dinner. It was great. And the girls had a great time too. Lucy was so sad when they left. She put her head on her dad's shoulder and cried, "Hello Gama! Hello Bumpa! Pweeease!!".

Just because...

I love love love sleeping babies. Especially my sleeping babies. She makes my heart melt.

Lucy found my pancake flavored lip gloss.

Mary skipping Sunday School

Cute dad and cute girls.

Lucy has been doing great in nursery. She is so sad when I leave but the nursery leaders say she only cries for maybe fifteen seconds. Her nursery leader let Lucy play with her phone and take selfies. Here are a couple of probably 50 pictures Lucy took.

My happy girl. She has been "talking" a lot lately so I tried to get that recorded.

Love These Girls

This week was pretty low key.  I went to the grocery store with both girls and that was about the extent of our adventures. The girls are both doing well and I'm grateful to be their mom. Mary has is and exceptional baby and I'm grateful for her. She sleeps 7-8 hours at night now and she's generally happy when she's awake. Lucy is learning like crazy. It seems like her vocabulary doubles every day. She woke up from her nap the other day and started "falling" down in her crib when out of nowhere she laughs and says, "funny!". I didn't know she knew that word.

I love this baby. The best part of having cold weather is that I get to put Mary in her pink body suit. It's so cute.

She is so smiley. She almost always smiles when somebody looks at her.

I often take pictures just because. I love looking at my girls' faces.

Sometimes when you're a baby your pants are baggy and then your daddy pulls them up to look like old man pants.

We went bowling yesterday and Lucy loved it. She didn't care about knocking pins over,  but she loved rolling the ball down the ramp.

It was dark in the alley so our pictures are really bad. It's a shame because she was so cute.

The girls in their matching jammies. I was trying to make Lucy laugh.

It worked.
