Merry Christmas

This post is way over due, so it is going to be really long.  Hang in there.

Bryan finished school on the 20th and it has been a party since.  We got to spend the weekend with the Joneses, Reads, and Taylors.  It was fun having all the family around.

The kids taking on their roles to tell the Nativity story.  Lucy was the understudy for baby Jesus while cousin Quincy took a nap. Candace was Mary and Levi was Joseph.  Joseph was a little unfocused.  He played with my ring and kept asking me for it.  Cute.

I think these are the shepherds.

Lucy and Snow White. Aunt Heather looks great.

Girl cousins and Snow White.

Trying to get a family picture taken. She has a really good sad face.

Her face is still a little pink, but this is a good one.

Lucy dancing.  I love this picture.  I hope I can catch it on video before she stops dancing with her head.  We haven't had much luck so far.

We flew out to Utah to come to my mom's on Christmas eve.  Jeff and DeAnn were nice enough to drive us to the airport at 4:30 in the morning. Lucy did pretty well on the flights.  She had her moments, but let's be honest.  By the 5th hour of sitting on an airplane I felt like rolling around and crying too.  She has finally adjusted to the time change.  She woke up at 4am two mornings in a row because she thought it was her normal 6am.

Christmas morning!!  We had a great Christmas.  Lucy had a great time. Her new Christmas jammies are so cute.

She probably could have stopped at the stocking and been happy. So cute Lucy.

 Playing with packaging. Why not?

Lucy, that's daddy's present!

 Awww

Grandma made Lucy a bath robe.  The pocket says, "Diva in Training".  Uh oh.

She's been a little sick since we've been here, but she's getting better.  She threw up on the way to Costco last night, but thankfully Grandma got her clean pj's when we got there.  This is what she wore until we got her changed.  She was pretty content.

Almost 9 Months

Goosey is almost 9 months old, so we went to the doctor today for her check up.  She weighed 19 lbs 6 oz and is 28.5 inches.  She's just about in the 75th percentile for both.  She liked sitting on the scale when she realized it bounces.

We went on a family double date out to dinner with the Bairds.  The waiter was about 10 minutes late to our table and without a complaint from us the manager gave us two coupons for a free appetizer or dessert.  Cha ching.

Lucy loved our free milk shake.

For a baby that can't crawl, she gets into her fair share of mischief.

An ornament for each hand and garland on the foot for good luck.

This is daddy "watching" Lucy while I did dishes

We got to spend the weekend with family.  Here's Aunt Natalie and cousin Candace reading to Lucy. I love it.

There were paint flakes all over her face after this.  I'm assuming the paint is non toxic and I don't have to worry.

I had to wake her up to go to the doctor today.  It's too bad, she looked pretty cozy.

One Day at a Time

Lucy and I made it another week together.  We didn't do much outside the norm.  Bryan had his last week of classes and finals start this week.  The time is flying by.

Lucy and her friend Lillian sharing the cart while moms grocery shop.

Lucy is trying to skip crawling all together.  She can pull herself up to her knees.

Lucy ready to go to book club.  She thought it was a little bit rude that everybody was 30 minutes late until she found out book club starts at 10:30, not 10:00.  Oops.

We walked to school and met Dad for lunch yesterday.  She was so tired, but she can't fall asleep if there's a chance she'll miss something exciting.

It was her friend Lillian's first birthday this week.  This was at the birthday party where Lucy has already stolen one of Lillian's birthday gifts. The other two babies (Evangeline and Lillian) are fighting over the box.

She can get really excited about nothing.  The sound you hear in the beginning is her "I'm so excited I can't get air" laugh.

She acts like she wants to get around on her own.  So far this is what we get.

Sick = Depression

Lucy goosey got sick this week.  She started off Monday morning feeling like this:

And by the afternoon, this is how she felt:

I'm giving myself credit for reaching true motherhood after getting thrown up on while I held her.  Especially since I had the presence of mind to make sure the vomit got only on me and not the couch.  Lucy and I spent Monday night up all night, crying together.  I took her to the doctor Tuesday morning and she had a double ear infection and a fever of 101.3. She was so sad for a couple of days. She hated her medicine, but she has given in now.  She also hates her nose being wiped.  It's not really a problem though, because she doesn't mind at all rubbing her messy nose all over my shoulder.

Lest any throwing up cousins feel bad, don't worry.  I don't think she had what you guys had.

Daddy does bath/bedtime almost every night.  Lucy loves playing with her dad.

Rockin' the skinny pants and pretending she can stand up.  Lucy, we know you're leaning against the couch.

 Merry Christmas!

She is a wackle munch.  I put her on the floor, facing the other direction with a bucket of toys.  This is what she would rather do.

Lucy playing by herself.  She can't crawl, but boy she can turn in circles.

Experiencing bubbles for the first time.
