Baby Fun

What a great week. It was my birthday, so pretty much every body had the best day of their life. Lucy celebrated by sleeping in until 9 and taking a couple of two hour naps. That was the best present after the week we've had. She has gotten off her schedule and we're having a hard time fixing it.

Last night we put her to bed and were watching a movie when she woke up after only sleeping for 30 minutes.  Bryan went to check on her and she was sitting up (which she always does lately) so he laid her down and left.  She cried for about a half an hour until she finally fell asleep.  We finished our movie and then I checked on her before we went to bed.  Poor baby, I found her still in the sitting position with her blanket and her head on her lap. I felt so bad.

We had a play date with Evangeline on my birthday.  Evangeline has a huge puppy and tons of toy. She loves it over there.

The Bairds had us over for dinner on my birthday.  Dara made a really good ice cream cake.

Snow! She was happy to sit there.  She didn't play with it.

This is her excited face.  She makes this face when she sees something she wants and thinks she's going to get it (like the computer).

She made a snow angel.

Getting Lucy in the morning. Sometimes she's good and will sit and play for a while after she wakes up.

The play place at the mall.  Lucy loved it. This was the last time she looked back at me before she took off. She came back after 15 minutes which was cute.

Lucy into trouble.  The mess in the background is her doing too.

Lucy learning how to walk.

I like this video because she does her cute blink.

Home at Last

We're finally home in our luxury apartment at University Gardens. We don't feel at home until there are sausages hanging on the clothes line.  Seriously. there's a sausage hanging on the clothes line right now.

Lucy has been happy to be home.  I was was getting ready to brag about how much she loves her crib because she has been sleeping like an angel since we got home.  Until last night that is. She was awake in her room for an hour in the middle of the night last night and I finally couldn't take it, so I went in to see what she was up to.  She was sitting up in her crib holding her baby doll.  Why does she have to be cute?

Here's my quilt on my mother in law's quilting machine.  I'm so excited for it to be finished.  Unfortunately, we ran into some serious problems so I abandoned the project and left the mess for DeAnn. Thanks DeAnn.

"Lucy, what do you think you are doing?"

 "Relax mom!"

"I'm cute. You can't stay mad at me."

We went to IHop and redeemed a free meal for my birthday.  Lucy was kicking up a storm while she ate her version of "All you can eat pancakes".

Bryan took this at church today.  There was an Elder's Quorum nursery in the very back. Poor Ethan was the only boy and Lucy decided to pick on him and steal his cell phone.  Kids these days.

Home...(almost)

Disclaimer: I know this is a really long post.  I'm just not organized enough to break it up into something more manageable.

We had to leave Utah today and return to real life.  Well, almost.  We're hanging out with Grandparent Joneses until we really really have to go home.

We had a great time in Utah and were sad to leave.  Mom and Doug really spoiled us and I'm not looking forward to cooking my own meals.  The trip ended with us wrecking mom's car, but the lady who hit us wasn't too shook up because she won her car while on The Price is Right.

Here are some cute pictures of Lucy playing on a rocking chair at my mom's.

She's a little scared of this big guy.

Asleep with her bottle. A full belly makes everything better.

Her first bubble bath.  A little concerned, but overall unimpressed.

Mom helped me make my first quilt .  I was very happy that my baby played while I sewed (this is my view from the sewing table). My happiness lasted about 5 minutes before she decided she wanted held. I didn't get a picture of her face pressed against the mesh while she screamed.

We got to go to Natalie's house for a couple of days.  The kids had fun and we had a great time as Natalie took care of us all- what's three more people when you have four kids? We saw Becky a lot too and that was fun.  Lucy wasn't sure about Becky holding her unless she was singing, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". She loved it.

We went to a playground our first afternoon.

Lucy did great on the planes today. She slept the entire first flight.

Wait a minute.  Daddy slept the entire first flight too.

Here's a video Grandpa Doug took of Lucy playing the piano on Christmas. What can I say? She's a prodigy.

Lucy trying her hardest not to fall asleep at dinner yesterday.  She's such a happy baby she couldn't sleep when she knew somebody was looking at her smiling.

Lucy playing at Grandma's.  She's silly.

Time Flies

The time is going by really quickly.  We've been having a good time and it feels like maybe we've moved here.  We're considering staying since our candy dish in our bedroom has finally been refilled.

Mom and I went to Kohls and Lucy got to ride in style.  She loved it. This was the only stroller cart available and you can't really tell how large it is, but believe me - it's huge.  I only miss judged a corner once and got poor Lucy's foot stuck against the wall.

Ready to go out.  She looks so cute in her hat that Aunt Becky made her.

Lucy always plays with the monkey ears that stick off these jammies

Lucy has been debuting a new cry this week. It's a winner.  It's great to listen to every time she gets strapped into her car seat.

Happy New Year

The party continues in Utah.  The Coupes came to my mom's on Friday and we've been having a great time.  We celebrated New year's by staying up until 10pm. I think the Coupe kids stayed up until midnight, but there's no way of knowing,

Ernie and Henry love Lucy.  They're so nice to her.  Unfortunately, Lucy hasn't let anybody hold her but mom and dad since the Coupes got here.

Molly, Stuart, and Elisa - Not a great pic, but proof they were here.

We went to see Lucy's Great Grandparents yesterday, Grandma Gail and Grandpa Wayne Jones. This is a good picture of everybody but Bryan.  Oh well.

Lucy LOVED sparky.

Happy 2nd anniversary to us.  I made beignets (from my new cookbook) since we went to New Orleans on our honeymoon.

Lucy loved them.

Lucy loves ice cream too.  Lucy loves everything sweet she eats.

She also loves to eat gold glitter off of Christmas decorations.

Playing in the snow for the first time in her life.  She wasn't that impressed.  It was pretty cold so we didn't last very long out there.
