Here's a set of pictures that we got off of Grandpa's/Bryan's/My (sometimes...if he'll let me use it) iPad.

These are pictures of when Grandma and Grandpa Jones when they came to visit Mary in the hospital and met her for the first time.

Merry Christmas. Everybody is playing wii I think?

I love this picture. This was on Mary's 4 week old birthday.

Ready for church today. It was Mary's first Sunday in our ward.  She did great. If only I had a nickle for every time somebody said, "Look at all that hair!"...

This is Lucy's favorite place to hang out. It makes our already limited counter space that much more crowded.

Here's a video of visiting Mary in the hospital.

Welcome Home

Our Mary came home this week. It was a long week going back and forth to the hospital and we're happy to have our whole family at home. Mary is such a good baby. It's only been three nights, but I'm not even that tired. That probably has a lot to do with the fact that Daddy has been home pretty much taking care of everything while I get to take naps. Speaking of naps, one of the best things that happened all week was Lucy sleeping through the night two nights in a row. We are so grateful.

Uncle Ben came home this week too and we got a visit from him, Aunt Steph, and Grandma and Grandpa. Unfortunately I don't have pictures. It was great to see them all. Welcome home Ben.

Mary had her hair washed and it stuck straight up. Her IV is sad. I was so happy when that got taken off her arm.

I took a picture of the back of her head just for a shot of all her hair.

Mary got jaundice from not eating so she had to go under a blue light. It kind of looks relaxing.

I have a hard time getting Mary to eat for any length of time. She zonks out after 5 minutes.

Her home away from home.

Finally dressed and ready to come home.

Lucy was so happy when Mary got in the car with us to go home. She loves her sister. Even if there are some jealousy issues that are being worked out.

Lucy likes to be as close as possible to Mary.

 So cozy.

Lucy's first cell phone selfie.

I still think you're as cute today as I did before Mary was born Lucy.

This was the first night Mary came home. Lucy was having a hard time with the fact that Mary has things she doesn't (like her own bed). Lucy wanted to get in Mary's bed and we wouldn't let her.

Mary got the hiccups and Lucy thought it was pretty funny.

Not really sure what was going on here...

December 6, 2013

Sweet Mary Elizabeth Jones came to our family this weekend. Everything went so well with the delivery and I am recovering very well. The only problem is that Mary couldn't home with us. She is at the hospital with an infection and will be on antibiotics until Friday. They don't know exactly what it is, but they say she is improving. She was off of the oxygen all day today which is great and it looks like she will be able to start eating tomorrow (she has been fed with an IV so far). She is beautiful and precious and it breaks my heart to not have her home. I miss her so much.

She weighed 7lbs 15oz - the exact same as her sister. She was 20 inches long.

Grandma JoAnn and Grandpa Doug stayed with Lucy. They were a huge help and I know Lucy had a great time getting spoiled by them.

Lucy loves her sister. We went to see her again tonight and Lucy couldn't stop talking about her.

I finally got to hold her again today. I didn't get to hold her from Friday night until Sunday morning.

 She's perfect

This is Mary's view from her room. Not bad.

This was Saturday with her oxygen hat on.

This was right after she was born.

Lucy meets Mary for the first time

I was so sad to be away from Lucy for so long. This was the video of her I watched over and over when I was in the hospital and missed her.

Over Due

Well I'm still pregnant.  The good news is I'm not exhausted with a newborn. The bad news is that I'm exhausted with a toddler. Poor Lucy has been really having a rough time sleeping lately. Things took a turn for the worse the night before thanksgiving, but they've improved the last few nights. Thankfully the neighbors seem to have more patience and haven't stomped on the floor in a few nights.  We'll figure this out Lucy...

On a side note, you're not a parent until your child sticks their hand in their messy diaper and then touches your head. Dad was a trooper handling that one.

Lucy sleeping before church. She's so cute in her hat and tights.

We went to Michie Tavern for thanksgiving dinner. Lucy mostly ate the butter.

We went on a short walk Friday morning and were lucky enough to catch a parade. Merry Christmas Santa.

Smiles

I guess I was putting off a blog post in the hopes that the baby would already be here. She's not. So here's (hopefully) the last blog post before I'm out of my mind exhausted with a newborn.

As I was loading pictures I realized I didn't get any of Aunt Becky's visit. Becky came for the weekend and we loved having her here. Lucy loves her and is still calling for, "Becka!". Becky was a great help with Lucy and around the house.

This was Lucy and I waiting for our rental car. Our car was in the shop getting repairs from a fender bender.

Lucy and I went to Waffle House for breakfast. We got to give away a "Golden Ticket" to our waitress for offering us the right beverage.  I was a little embarrassed at first, but the waitress was really grateful and we made her co-workers cry with joy. I'm being serious. They were really happy.

Lucy and her friend Evangeline eating mini ice cream cones.

This is what a baby looks like that doesn't get enough sleep during the night. She has regularly been waking up around 4 a.m. Sometimes we have good nights, but most often she has problems sleeping. We love you anyway Lucy.

Lucy does really well while I grocery shop. She pulls food out of the cart and piles it around her (as you can see).

Lucy has realized the last few days that she likes the primary song, "Smiles". I didn't get the camera out in time to catch her funny frowny face, but her smiley face was cute enough to post.

2 Weeks

I missed a week and I've already forgotten what we've done over the last two weeks.  I'm sure there was laundry, secret shopping, and sleepless nights. That's pretty much how things go around here.  I'm less than two weeks due to have this baby and I'm ready. We're looking forward to meeting her.

We walked to our polling place and voted on election day. When I left the guy with the "I voted" stickers tried to give me a "future voter" sticker for my belly. I declined. Lucy was bored by the end of it and fell asleep before we got home.

Lucy has been climbing on to the changing table every chance she gets. The good thing is that she's much better while she gets her diaper changed because she likes to get up there. It's also kind of nice because she doesn't know how to get down. So once she climbs up I know I have some time to get some things done. She'll sit there and say, "Mama! Dada!" when she wants down.

This was last Sunday before church.

This was last Sunday after nursery. She wasn't bad at all a few weeks ago in nursery and then last Sunday she was traumatized. The entire rest of the day she was crying and clinging to us like we were going to abandon her forever. It was Stake Conference today and when we walked into the chapel and she saw her nursery leader she started crying  and saying, "no...no...no...no" and clung to me for 20 minutes.

We toured some apartment complexes last week and Lucy got to ride in the golf cart. She had a blast.

Grandma and Grandpa Horne and Grandma Jones came for the day on Thursday. We were so happy they came to visit.

Lucy was Grandma's buddy the whole day.

Lucy and I went shopping yesterday and she jumped out of her stroller to pet the puppy. She also sat on him.
